Competitive Levels: Two competitive levels are available in the Minor, Intermediate, Junior, and Senior leagues. The "A" division is intended to be of a higher competitive level for the more experienced players, while the "B" division is designed to be developmental in nature.

Instructional League: This program is designed as an introduction to basketball for 6+ year old. The emphasis is on the instruction of skills. The core of the program is regional clinics conducted on Saturday mornings in January and a regular season in February.

Team Selection: Teams are selected shortly after the abilities assessments, which are conducted during the month of November.  Instructional teams are organized by the Basketball Administrators.

Coaches: Head coaches are selected by the Basketball Administrator. Assistant coaches are selected by the head coaches.

Season: Pre-season practice begins around the middle of November, and the final game is around the middle of March.

Games:  Most games are played on Saturdays and a few Sundays beginning the first Saturday after New Years and extend until the beginning of March. Game schedules are typically distributed by the League during the week prior to the first game. Please note: the Gordon Athletic Association does not set up the game schedules or venues.

Practice: The League establishes practice venues and time slots for each Association. Each team is allotted weekly practice time at a local school gym between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.. For GAA, practices are typically once or twice per week distributed amongst Gordon ES, Reams Road ES, and other neighboring schools. Head coaches establish practice schedules within the venue-timeslots provided to GAA by the League.

Playing Time: Coaches will abide by the league rules regarding playing time. GAA encourages equal playing time for all participants.

Post Season Play: All teams participate in a post-season tournament.

Free Agent Policy: Children who live within the Gordon Elementary School attendance boundaries will only be released to play for another association if we are unable to place them on a team. Players who request to play for another association will be released according to the request date and the merits of the individual case.
